Frequently asked questions

We take our client’s confidentiality very seriously.
Only you (and your referring provider ie Dr or allied health professional, if there is one), will know about you coming to Flourish Cove. Beyond that, it’s your prerogative to disclose your visits to your loved ones or others.
We have also chosen a highly secure clinic management system as a way to safeguard our client’s information. Our cloud service provider ensures your data is stored using PDPA-compliant methods, as recommended by Singapore’s Infocomm Media Development Authority, IMDA.
We also conduct all telehealth services through our preferred telehealth platform that is protected by AES-256 encryption and SSL Certificates, so only authorized parties can access a telehealth session. This way, telehealth consultations are as private as in-person consultations.

Filling in our pre-registration form is one way to prepare for the first session, as you will be prompted to answer a few questions on what brings you to seek consultation with a psychologist.
By thinking through and stating your goals, it helps orientate you to the structure and set up of a psychology session, as a meeting that is different to others (such as with friends). Your goals determine the focus of therapy.
First sessions can sometimes be a bit confronting for some, as it may be the first time you are opening up to someone else. You are encouraged to trust your own comfort level, on what feels safer to share today, and what might be better left to the next session or later. Go at your own pace.
First sessions, more than information gathering, is also a lot about connecting with each other, building the sense of safety in the professional working relationship. Feel free to ask some questions to help clarify any doubts you have with your psychologist.

Given the diverse nature of presenting issues for clients, it is not possible to provide a blanket statement on this. But we shall try! For those with shorter-term issues, ten to twelve sessions may be a good gauge.
Longer-term, or deep-seated issues, will typically benefit from longer-term therapy, that goes beyond twenty sessions or more.
-
Absolutely! In fact, you will definitely be engaged in the process of discussing your therapy preferences, be it modality or other aspects.

As a private entity, we are not entitled to any additional subsidies from other funding bodies. However, we can try to help by offering some lower cost sessions, on a case-by-case basis, and only for a select number of clients with justified financial constraints.
If you do have any financial constraints that prevents consulting with us, we will be glad to share other community-based resources with you for your consideration.
